What We're Looking For
We are seeking a Computer Systems Analyst – Senior to play a pivotal role in strengthening endpoint security, configuration management, and enterprise monitoring for our federal partners. In this role, you will be at the forefront of securing and optimizing large‑scale endpoint environments, ensuring compliance, reliability, and operational excellence.
In this role, you will:
- Lead Innovative Projects
Spearhead endpoint security and configuration initiatives leveraging SCCM, BigFix, WSUS, SCOM, and other enterprise platforms to solve complex operational and cybersecurity challenges.
- Collaborative Solution Development
Work closely with cross‑functional engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to develop scalable, compliant, and secure endpoint solutions.
- Strategic Impact
Analyze emerging endpoint technologies, automation capabilities, and compliance requirements to inform strategic decisions and strengthen enterprise security posture.
- Stakeholder Engagement
Engage with federal partners to understand mission needs, provide technical guidance, and deliver solutions that enhance operational readiness.
- Mentorship and Leadership
Share expertise with junior analysts and system administrators, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and excellence.
Position Summary
The Computer Systems Analyst – Senior provides enterprise‑level endpoint security, configuration management, monitoring, and compliance support for the Department of the Interior's (DOI) End User Services environment. This role ensures secure, reliable, and standardized endpoint operations across the DOI enterprise by leveraging SCCM, BigFix, WSUS, SCOM, and other enterprise management platforms.
The Senior Analyst supports vulnerability remediation, patching, compliance reporting, endpoint configuration baselines, and enterprise monitoring to maintain DOI's security posture and operational readiness.
Core Responsibilities
Endpoint Security & Compliance
- Manage enterprise endpoint security tools, patching, antivirus, and vulnerability remediation.
- Maintain compliance with NIST, FISMA, SCAP, and DOI security standards.
- Monitor endpoint health, configuration drift, and compliance posture across the enterprise.
Enterprise Configuration & Deployment
- Develop, maintain, and deploy endpoint configuration packages, scripts, and automation workflows.
- Manage SCCM/SCOM/BigFix/WSUS for software distribution, patching, and endpoint monitoring.
- Maintain configuration documentation, deployment guides, and SOPs.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Provide enterprise‑level monitoring and reporting on endpoint performance, compliance, and security.
- Generate dashboards, compliance reports, and asset management summaries for DOI leadership.
- Support audit readiness and continuous monitoring requirements.
Operations & Incident Response
- Troubleshoot endpoint‑related incidents, performance issues, and security alerts.
- Support backup, restore, and recovery operations for endpoint systems.
- Respond to critical events outside normal business hours as required.
Collaboration & Governance
- Participate in DOI meetings, technical discussions, and cross‑functional coordination.
- Support Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes, RFC tracking, and documentation.
- Provide knowledge transfer and training to junior analysts and system administrators.
Required Qualifications
- 6–10+ years of experience in enterprise endpoint management, security operations, or systems analysis.
- Strong proficiency with SCCM, SCOM, BigFix, WSUS, antivirus platforms, and enterprise monitoring tools.
- Experience supporting large federal or enterprise environments with 10,000+ endpoints.
- Strong understanding of NIST, FISMA, SCAP, and federal cybersecurity compliance frameworks.
- Ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Experience with PowerShell, automation, and configuration management scripting.
Education & Certifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred:
- Microsoft Endpoint Administrator
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent IAT II baseline
- ITIL Foundation
- Vendor‑specific endpoint security certifications (BigFix, Tanium, SCCM)
