What We're Looking For

We are seeking a Python Developer – API Development, MCP & Data Analytics who will play a pivotal role in enhancing our organization's capabilities and advancing the missions of our federal partners. In this role, you will focus on MCP server development and scalable web services, while leveraging data science tools to process and analyze financial data.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python services for MCP server functionality
• Perform advanced data analysis using Pandas
• Create analytical notebooks in Jupyter for data exploration
• Integrate with existing Python APIs and enhance functionality
• Support web-focused features and backend services
• Collaborate with security and testing teams
• Write unit tests and participate in QA processes

The Skills We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of Python development experience
• Strong skills in Pandas and data manipulation
• Proficiency with Jupyter Notebooks
• Experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks
• Understanding of web development principles
• Ability to write clean, testable code
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field

Nice to Have

• Experience with financial data and equity positions
• Knowledge of AWS services
• Familiarity with MCP or similar protocol implementations

The Expectations of the Job

Day One:

• Orientation and Onboarding: Immerse yourself in Aretec's culture, values, and mission. Begin building relationships with your team and familiarize yourself with our current projects and federal partners.

Day Thirty:

• Active Contribution: Start actively participating in MCP and API development projects, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives.
• Skill Application: Apply your expertise in Python, Pandas, and FastAPI to initial tasks.

Day Sixty:

• Project Leadership: Take on more significant responsibilities within MCP and data analytics projects, potentially leading a small project segment.
• Strategic Planning: Contribute to discussions on scalable API development and emerging data analytics practices.
• Stakeholder Interaction: Engage more deeply with federal partners, tailoring solutions to their data and integration needs.

Day Ninety:

• Full Ownership: Assume full ownership of key MCP and API development initiatives, driving them from conception to successful completion.
• Innovation and Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation across data workflows and backend services.
• Mentorship Role: Actively mentor junior developers, sharing your knowledge and fostering continuous learning.
